listen to me giiiiirl

i definitely don’t have any time to write this… but i’m going to make the time.

i’m listening to “chante’s got a man” over and over again and i’m reminded of how much i love that song. i love talking about men. good men. great partnerships. as a society, we get so hung up on thinking that we can’t have good, healthy relationships with mates.  it’s crazy bc there are good men who treat their women right. on top of that, there are plenty potentials. sometimes men just need a little guidance from us, ladies, to know how to treat us…and that’s where the breakdown comes in. when we don’t demand them to treat us with respect, they treat us how we allow them to treat us.  then WE get mad.

it’s like the chicken and the egg. it doesn’t matter where/how the disrespect starts, we gotta learn how to cultivate our romantic relationships into something better. we have the power to only entertain things that are good for US. it is truly in OUR hands.

of course, chante don’t say alla that, but it’s fine.  she “never gave up hope” and “now her life has changed.” holding out for the one that treats you amazingly and not just “aight” or worse, like dirt, takes hella patience and sometimes frustration.  but i think the end result can be remarkable and well worth the wait.
